In 2008, Orient Pharma invested $40 million USD in a new plant located in Huwei Township, Yunlin County. The total area of Yunlin plant is 15,200 square meters (163,600 square feet) and the main building is comprised of three stores. The new plant is designed to conform to the standards set forth by the U.S. FDA, and will apply for product certification from the U.S. FDA, European PIC/S and Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) in Japan. The plant is conveniently located at about an hour and half from Taipei via the high speed rail.
